Replacing a kitchen or bath faucet
Observe all features of your current faucet, including
make, if you can find a brand name on it. Measure the
distance between the centers of the handles, if there
are two handles (often 4" or 8" for a bath
faucet, 6", 8", or 12" for a kitchen
faucet). If it is a single handle kitchen faucet, is
there a base plate? How wide? Is there a separate spray
or soap dispenser in a separate sink hole?
Replacing a toilet seat
Bring in the old seat, if possible. If not, bring in
a color sample, such as the toilet tank lid, or the
small bolt cover at the bottom of the toilet, which
is probably removable. If you cannot bring the seat
in, is it closer to being round or elongated? Try to
locate the manufacturer's name somewhere on the toilet
itself. You may find a model number on the bottom of
the tank lid, or on the wall on the inside of the tank.
Replacing one fixture
If you want to replace just the lavatory sink, or the
toilet, bring in a color sample, such as the toilet
tank lid, so the new one will match the other fixture(s).
If the fixture in question is the toilet, is the bowl
closer to round or elongated? If you are replacing a
vanity sink in a vanity base, measure the size of the
sink and the vanity top, front-to-back and side-to-side.
Is the sink round? Oval? Square? Rectangular? Is there
a sink rim? Or is it self-rimming? The same questions
apply to a kitchen sink.
Remodeling a bathroom or building
a new home
If you have architects plans, please bring them in.
If you do not, please make a rough sketch of your
bathroom(s), showing dimensions, existing or planned
fixture locations and dimensions, and locations of
all doors and windows, including sizes. Also note
the location of any windows on the walls (how far
from the floor and ceiling, etc.) The more information
you can bring in, the easier it will be for you and
your AARON BATH DESIGN GALLERY professional showroom
design consultant to work efficiently together. If
you have color samples or chips, floor tile samples
or wallpaper samples, bring them in as well. If you
have any other special desires or considerations, please
jot them down, so you remember to tell your consultant.
It is wise for both members of a couple to be present,
if possible, and you will be less distracted if you
can leave children with someone else. When you make
an appointment, ask how much time should be allowed
for your project, so that you are sure to block as
much time as necessary on your calendar!
